Marc started singing early in high school performing in both musical productions as well as in garage bands. While living in Burlington, VT he sang with an a cappella group, fronted a classic rock 5-piece group and started working on original material. In 2009 he formed Mansfield Ave with Kim Abell. Influences: Pink Floyd, The Police, Sting, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Peter Gabriel, Barenaked Ladies, and the Dave Matthews Band
Jeff Bazarian (Baz) studied viola from age 8-13 and learned to play upright bass along with his favorite Beatles songs. By 16, he was playing bass guitar in pickup bands includingThe Gnomes, which featured Herb Heins on lead guitar. After moving to Rochester in the 80s, this band morphed into Pavlov’s Dog, later Visual Cliff and finally, when Frisch-O switched to bass and Baz to rhythm guitar, the band morphed yet again into Herb Heins and The Turbines. After a hiatus, Baz returned to the music scene in the early 2000’s joining the The Bob Squad, and more recently the Hawks View Honey Badgers. 2010, Baz teamed up with vocalist/guitarist Marc Halterman in The Mansfield Avenue Band.
Chris began playing keyboards at an early age and studied classical piano with Grace Barnes at The Bradley Music Institute in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He has performed with several jazz ensembles and vocal groups, and also co-wrote the original material for the Buffalo, NY rock group, The Touch. After College he moved to Rochester, NY, playing with several popular local bands, including Boys Lie. In addition to his work with The Mansfield Trio, Chris currently plays with the party band, Rochester Brass & Electric and the jazz / funk group, AudioInflux. Influences: Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Umphrey's McGee, Soulive, Jimmy Smith, Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver, Level 42, Phish, and Bruce Hornsby.
At a young age, Kim learned piano under the instruction of Donna Borofsky and drums under the instruction of Jim Kurty in Brattleboro, VT. His focus in the 1980s was with concert bands, orchestras and jazz ensembles, performing in All State and All New England music festivals, cities in Western Europe and Carnegie Hall. In the 1990s he formed Table 15 with classmates in Burlington, VT as a way to let off some steam. After relocating to Fairport, NY in 2007 Kim joined Marc for the inaugural edition of Mansfield Avenue(2009) and established Low Standards (2008-2013) before joining the Trio. Influences: Rush, Styx, Genesis, Talking Heads, They Might Be Giants, Poi Dog Pondering, Trip Shakespeare, XTC, Buffalo Tom, Led Zeppelin, Chucklehead, Phish, Stravinsky
What we know so far is that Bill is a big fan of The Freddy Jones Band, Collective Soul and pretty much anything that gives him free license to strut hist stuff on stage.
